No bird feathers found on the ground carry the disease?
I was always told a child not to collect bird feathers, because they transmit diseases. Now my daughter wants to pick them up each time you run one of them. Should I keep her from them, or am I being too cautious?
Most germs can not live long outside a living being. they need to be in a warm atmosphere. I'd say it's probably fine, just wash your hands afterwards and keep away from face. I was always picking up bird feathers as a child and not a single disease can be traced back to them. I'm not saying that there can be some microbes or she can not sick, but the chances are slim, especially if he stays out of his face and hands of her mouth until they are washed.
